Education and Advocacy
Our centre offers education and advocacy services on issues pertaining to sexual and gender-based violence.

The Community Education Program works towards promoting anti-oppressive, intersectional feminist, trauma-informed, survivor-centered responses to sexualized violence and the prevention of sexualized violence in our community.

We educate our community through:
-
Development and facilitation of educational materials and workshops
-
Prevention and awareness campaigns on social media
-
Organizing and participating in events such as Take Back the Night, Dec. 6 Memorial, and more
-
Participating and engaging in local coordinating committees to advocate and promote social change
-
Sharing information about SACK services
-
Responding to media and doing speaking engagements

We receive many requests for community education throughout the year. Some of our more popular topics include:
-
Overview of SACK Services
-
Consent & Fostering Healthy Relationships
-
Responding to Disclosures
-
How to Support a Survivor

We are in the process of updating and expanding our educational offerings. If you are looking for something more tailored or specific, please let us know and will do our best to accommodate your request. If we cannot fulfill your request for whatever reason, we will do our best to refer out to appropriate alternatives.
