The Community Education Program at Sexual Assault Centre Kingston (SAC Kingston) raises awareness, informs the community, and takes action on the issues of sexualized violence through collaboration with individuals and organizations, public speaking, creation and distribution of educational materials, and media relations.
Community Education Projects
We work on various projects that address sexualized violence and the broader issues of equality, including, but not limited to, the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, International Women’s Day, Sexual Violence Awareness Month (May), Take Back the Night, and the Sisters In Spirit Vigil.
Public Speaking Engagements
SAC Kingston offers presentations, workshops, and other public speaking engagements on various topics concerning sexualized violence, healthy relationships, prevention and the broader issues of gender equality to schools, professional and community organizations, and special interest groups.
We can provide curriculum based speaks and/or groups at schools on the issues of consent, healthy relationships, sexting, bystander, prevention and more.
