4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Macdonald Park, Kingston
(King St. East across from KGH on Lake Ontario)
There are over 600 known cases of missing or murdered Aboriginal women and girls in Canada. These women represent 10% of the total number of female homicides in Canada, despite the fact that Aboriginal women make up only 3% of the total female population.
Help us honour the lives of missing and murdered Aboriginal women, support their families, and recognize this Canadian crisis.
Ribbon Skirt Teaching/Drumming/Sacred Fire/Potluck Feast
ALL ARE WELCOME!
Please bring something to sit on, an offering of food to share at the Feast and a feast basket (plates and cutlery). Also, please bring a skirt (new or used) to represent the missing and murdered Aboriginal women. The skirts will be displayed at the vigil and then donated to charities across Kingston.
*In case of inclement weather the Feast will take place at 4 Directions Aboriginal Student Centre, 146 Barrie Street.
